About Flowerly & Co: Unique Flowers for Unique People
FAQs
What makes Flowerly Unique?
There are three things that make Flowerly unique: 1) the focus on regenerative agriculture; 2) the focus on sustainable design; 3) the unique flowers Flowerly grows that you can’t find at the store.
What is regenerative agriculture?
Regenerative agriculture is essentially the practice of giving back to the earth as much or more than you take from it. That translates to a variety of things, including leaving over an acre of the property wild and planting natives to support pollinators and other wildlife. Flowerly also does not spray pesticides to support the monarchs, which also has the benefit of making the flowers safer for humans to handle/compost/wear/decorate with.
Another aspect of regenerative agriculture is the types of flowers that are chosen to grow. For instance, as beautiful as tulips are, they are simply not sustainable as the bulbs are shipped from Holland and need to be thrown out every year. A more sustainable option would be, for instance, daffodils and irises, which naturalize.
What is sustainable design?
Sustainable design refers to the practice of doing no harm with the floristry materials being used. For instance, traditional floral foam is nonbiodegradeable and contains fomaldehyde. A safer alternative would be natural materials like moss.
What types of flowers does Flowerly grow?
For Spring, you can look forward to daffodils, bearded irises, anemones and ranunculus.
In Summer and Fall, it’s all about dahlias, zinnias, and sunflowers.
For 2026, the color palette focuses heavily on peachy, pink, and white tones.
For more information on specific varieties, you can contact Nelly at hello@flowerlyco.com.
Who is the “& Co” in Flowerly & Co?
Although Flowerly & Co is mostly managed by one person (Nelly), the & Co honors the friends and family who continue to help put this all together. That includes Nelly’s awesome husband (the muscle), three dogs (the deer guards), four cats (the resident mole catchers), and two rabbits (the fertilizer machines).
Booking a Consultation:
Do you need flowers for a special event, luncheon or business? Want to send your loved one something special? The way to go about that is to email Nelly at hello@flowerlyco.com with your request and if you are a good fit, she will set up a call or in-person meeting to discuss your vision with you.
The next step after that is that you will receive a mood board, which is a collage of different photos showing themes and ideas. If you love it, we make things official.
Then, on the event day, Nelly will show up, maybe accompanied with an assistant or two, with tons of flowers and they’ll start designing.
Meet Nelly, the Owner of Flowerly & Co:
Hi! It’s nice to meet you!
My name is Nelly and I am the owner and founder of Flowerly & Co where I grow fresh cut flowers to use them in my bouquets and floral design for small weddings and parties.
I have always been around plants and plant lovers from a young age, as dad was an avid gardener and grandpa was a farmer and merchant. Growing up, my dad tended to fruit trees, roses, and gladiolas outside, while my mom tended to dozens of orchid plants inside. To this day, I still eat fruit every winter from the orange trees we had when I was growing up as a child.
As for myself, I first fell in love with plants when I was about 8 years old when my mom’s friend gifted me a terrarium. I became an avid plant enthusiast ever since. Later in life, I transitioned from growing medicinal herbs and veggies to also growing flowers after visiting a U-Pick flower farm in Winters. Being on the farm was such an uplifting experience during a time when I wasn’t exactly in a good place. And so, I went all in and in 2025, we moved to a 4-acre property in Auburn.
